Registering for an Account

The EuNet-INNOCHRON Forum is a private EuNet-INNOCHRON COST Action site to which you can submit details of health experiences for display, indexing and feedback from other registered users.

If you choose to register for an account with our Forum then if you select, or you are given, a user identification code, password or any other piece of information as part of our registration or security procedures, you must treat such information as confidential. You must not disclose it to any third party.

We have the right to disable any user identification code or password, whether chosen by you or allocated by us, at any time (and so remove your ability to post to the Forum) at our discretion, including, without limitation, in circumstances where, in our reasonable opinion, you have failed to comply with any of the provisions of these Terms of Use.

If you know or suspect that anyone other than you knows your user identification code or password, you must promptly reset your password to a different one which will be known only to you.

Use of the Forum

The Forum is intended for the discussion of medical and health related topics. Whenever you use or visit our Forum you must comply with the following standards. These standards apply to each part of any contribution you make to the Website (including the Forum) and whether you do or do not comply with those standards will be determined by us in our sole discretion.

Contributions must:

  • Be accurate (where they state facts).
  • Be genuinely held (where they state opinions).
  • Comply with applicable law in Belgium (and in any country from which they are posted).
  • Be constructive and polite, not mean-spirited neither be  contributed with the intention of causing upset, trouble or ‘trolling’.
  • Provide proper references and source information for any health or medical information which is not from personal experience. Personal experience refers to a symptom, test or treatment that you  - have performed?.

 

Contributions must not:

  • Contain any material which is defamatory of any person.
  • Contain any material which is obscene, offensive, hateful or inflammatory.
  • Contain any sexually explicit material. Please note that we are aware that there are certain areas of the Forum where users may discuss issues or problems of a sexual nature (for example, erectile dysfunction issues) – we are aware that this is an area where people might find the relative anonymity of a forum a useful place to discuss issues they are concerned about and so it is not something that we want to prevent however please be aware that any images posted to the forums are publicly accessible and we strongly recommend that users think very carefully before posting anything of a personal nature to the site. 
  • Promote or incite any violence.
  • Promote or incite any discrimination (including, that which is based on race, sex, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation or age).
  • Infringe any copyright, database right or trade mark or any other proprietary rights of any other person.
  • Be likely to deceive any person.

  • Be the same as, or substantially similar to, comments which you have made in other threads or areas of the forum (including, for the purposes of promoting a particular message or agenda), i.e. no “spamming” of any discussions.
  • Include any advertising or be made for any commercial purpose.

Please note that all contributions must be in English (so that we can effectively moderate the Forum).

When using the Website (including the Forum):

  • you may link to specific URLs (web site addresses) in your contributions where these provide relevant and appropriate background reading or information. However, you must not link to advertising or sites that might cause offence to other users of the Website. Please note that any post containing a URL may be subject to review and moderation;
  • you must not use it in a manner which (in our view) is intended to promote or advertise another website, product or service (including, by inviting other users to send messages directly to you). You represent that any contribution you make to the Forum will comply with the standards set out above, and you will be liable to us and be responsible for any loss or damage we suffer as a result of your breach of this representation.

The Forum is not pre-moderated. While the administrators and moderators of the Forum will attempt to promptly remove or edit any contributions which we consider to breach our terms of use, or to be otherwise inappropriate, it is not possible for us to review every message. We may close threads and/or delete posts or threads where we consider that they are unproductive, not constructive, contain inappropriate subject matter for the Forum or which are otherwise unhelpful. Therefore, you acknowledge that all posts made to the Forum express the views and opinions of the author. Events

EuNet-INNOCHRON runs various events, seminars and conferences from time to time to update, educate and provoke discussion amongst its members. This privacy notice provides you with information about how EuNet-INNOCHRON uses your personal data when you register for and attend an Event run by EuNet-INNOCHRON.

This privacy notice explains how we use your personal data in relation to your interest in, or attendance at, an Event run by EuNet-INNOCHRON. It supplements our Privacy Notice on our website, available here.

Registering for an Event

If you wish to attend one of our Events, please RSVP by responding to us using the contact details provided on the Event invite.

What personal data will be processed?

If you register with an Event and consent to share your information with us, EuNet-INNOCHRON will receive the following information:

  • your first and last name, email and image you’ve chosen to include.
  • the sessions you’ve added to your personalised schedule.
  • the points of interest (speakers, vendors, etc.) you’ve added to your to-do list.

If you register for an Event with EuNet-INNOCHRON directly, the information you provide us will include:

  • your title, name, and full postal, email address and or telephone number;
  • your job title and role;
  • access needs.

EuNet-INNOCHRON may photograph and film the Event which will be used to promote our services and to promote future events. EuNet-INNOCHRON will therefore process your image. You will be notified if we intend to photograph/film an Event, for example, in the invitation and on signs at the entrance to the Event. If you do not wish to be photographed or filmed at an Event, please contact us. Where possible, we will provide photo- and film-free zones for those who do not want their picture taken can sit.

Records of communications sent to you by EuNet-INNOCHRON or that we receive from you in relation to an Event you will attend/have attended.

What is the purpose of processing?

EuNet-INNOCHRON will process your personal data for the following purposes:

  • To reserve a place for you at the event(s) you requested to attend;
  • To provide you with information about the event(s) for which you have registered, such as event updates, and possible changes, cancellation or similar information;
  • For general administration and organisation of our events, for example to contact you with information about an event or conference that you’re exhibiting at, or attending as we need to use your details for planning and logistics, to invoice you, to provide you service in relation to the event, and general administration of your attendance at the event.
  • To fulfil and monitor our legal responsibilities, for example, under public safety legislation;
  • In accordance with your preferences, to communicate with you about other events, news, and services we provide;
  • To ask you for your feedback or review after an Event you have attended;
  • To assess the activity of our attendees at our Events.
  • To film and photograph the Event which will be used to promote our services and to promote future events on our website, social media channels and in marketing materials. You will be notified if we intend to photograph/film an Event, for example, in the invitation and on signs at the entrance to the Event.
  • To plan better future events and attendee experience.

What is the legal basis of the processing?

We will only use your personal data when the law allows us to. Most commonly, we will use your personal data in the following circumstances:

  • Where we need to comply with a legal obligation.

Generally, we do not rely on consent as a legal basis for processing your personal data, although we will get your consent before sending third party direct marketing communications to you via email or text message. You have the right to withdraw consent to marketing at any time by contacting us.

To the extent that you may provide us with personal data about yourself that is sensitive, for example relating to any disability, allergies, or other dietary requirements that you have, we will process this information with your explicit consent, or if it is necessary:

Who will your personal data be shared with?

Within EuNet-INNOCHRON, your personal data is shared only with those departments and staff who need access for the processing purposes set out above.

We may share some of the information with external organisations providing services for the Event you are attending, in particular we may share your information (including dietary requirements) with catering service if you are attending an Event where catering is offered. The information shared will only be used to provide the service required and will not be retained by these external organisations after the Event is concluded.

How long is your personal data kept?

We will only retain your personal data for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, regulatory,  or reporting requirements. We may retain your personal data for a longer period in the event of a complaint or if we reasonably believe there is a prospect of litigation in respect to our relationship with you.

If you consent to stay in touch with us, or subscribe to our newsletter, essential information to communicate with you will be kept until you withdraw your consent or unsubscribe to specific communication as explained in our Privacy Notice.
