Current research interests

My current research interest is focused mainly on the pathogenesis of chronic neutropenia in adults. I am specifically interested in the identification of cellular, molecular, immune and genetic mechanisms underlying different types of chronic neutropenias, the differential diagnosis of the benign from the pre-malignant cases and the early recognition of malignant evolution based on longitudinal follow-up of these patients. The role of the BM microenvironment in the pathogenesis of chronic neutropenia and MDS is also one of my main research interests.
