Current research interests

My current research interest is focused on the pathogenesis of chronic neutropenias (NP) and of acute drug-induced NPs in adults. I am specifically interested in the clinical presentation as well as identification of cellular, molecular, immune and genetic mechanisms for these chronic and acute NPs, the differential diagnosis of the benign from the pre-malignant chronic cases and the early recognition of malignant evolution based on longitudinal follow-up of these patients.

Clinical Expertise related to EuNet-INNOCHRON

Clinical haematology with special experience in patients with acute and chronic neutropenias

Laboratory Epertise related to EuNet-INNOCHRON

At this time I collaborate with other labs concerning neutrophil antibody tests (Prof P Höglund et al), flow cytometry and immune histochemistry (Dr M Klimkowska et al, Prof B Fadeel), genetic analyses (Dr E Björck et al, Prof P Fortina, Philadelphia US), clinical follow-up (Drs H Lindkvist, D Tesfa, C Nilsson et al), epidemiology (Dr CL Andersen, Copenhagen), etc
