Current research interests

My long-standing interest is to understand proteolytic regulatory mechanisms that orchestrate immune cell responses. These include regulation mediated by serine proteases (such as neutrophil elastase) and  inhibitors of serine proteases, including secretory leukocyte proteinase inhibitor-(SLPI) and serpins.

Clinical Expertise related to EuNet-INNOCHRON

Collaboration with clinicists on different aspects of neutrophil activation, mostly in pathophysiology of cutaneous inflammatory diseases.

Laboratory Epertise related to EuNet-INNOCHRON

  • Inhibitors of serine proteases (including SLPI) in regulation of neutrophil function.
  • Elastase/eslatase inhibitors in the context of neutrophil’s diversity.
